to overview

The Swabian sharpening specialists VOLLMER are focussing on the future. On 1st January 2025, Tobias Trautmann will be joining the management team and, together with current Managing Director Andreas Böhm, will form the company's leadership duo. With over 20 years' experience in tool engineering, Trautmann will bring in-depth specialist knowledge and extensive international expertise to Biberach.

Trautmann's career combines technical know-how with management expertise. After completing his education and training as a state-certified engineer in mechatronics, he gained valuable practical experience as an application engineer in China and South Korea. He then furthered his technical expertise while studying Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering in the United Kingdom. Following this, Trautmann, who was born in the city of Ulm in southern Germany, started an international career as a sales manager for various mechanical engineering companies. Since 2020, as division manager for GROB-Werke in Mindelheim, he had been responsible for global sales of universal machines, as well as supervising the second-hand machinery market and product management and project execution.

"In Tobias Trautmann, we're gaining an experienced manager who is a perfect match for the company's direction," says Martin Kapp, Chairman of the VOLLMER Group's Supervisory Board. "His international experience, vast industry knowledge and clear communication will help to further improve the company's performance and to consistently continue on the path we've taken. We're delighted to have, in him and Andreas Böhm, a strong partnership to lead VOLLMER."

Andreas Böhm has been Managing Director of the VOLLMER Group since 2024 and succeeded Dr Stefan Brand and Jürgen Hauger. By appointing Tobias Trautmann, the machine manufacturer is counting on a tried-and-tested dual leadership team. The pair can look back on a company that has 115 years of tradition as a family-owned company and also a future-oriented and global outlook. Both Managing Directors agree, they want to further strengthen VOLLMER as an innovative partner for the tool industry and to prepare for international challenges.

"With a deep understanding of markets and customer needs, as well as the willingness, together with a dedicated team, to learn and to break new ground, I'm looking forward to leading VOLLMER into a dynamic and successful future," explains Trautmann, new Managing Director of the VOLLMER Group.
